Pastor Keith A. Hostutler

I was born in Xenia, Ohio in 1953 to (Rev. LeRoy & Kathleen Hostutler, the 3rd of 4 children. At the age of 16, I accepted my call to preach when in my personal devotion I read in Luke 9:60 “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” In 1971 I began my studies for ministry at Mount Vernon Nazarene College and completed them at Nazarene Bible College in 1977. My first pastorate was at the Grafton Parkview Church of the Nazarene, and I have since pastored at Charleston Tyler Heights Nazarene Church (Cross Lanes), Morgantown Pierpont Nazarene Church , Paden City Nazarene Church, and I began my pastorate at Parkersburg First in June of 1998. I have been blessed to spend my entire ministry in West Virginia.

On a personal note, I married Susie (Greene) from Loudendale, WV in 1973, and we have two sons. My eldest son Shane is married to Jackie (Shively), from Dayton Ohio. They have one son Slayton. Our youngest son Ryan, is in his 3rd year at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University I am an avid hunter & fisherman. Some of my closest times with God are spent out in his beautiful creation. My wife & I enjoy traveling, home improvement projects (she thinks them up – I do them) and spending time with our family, especially the grandson!

I was born in Charleston, WV in 1954 to Lola (Greene) Monday & Billy Joe Monday. Due to unforeseen circumstances & God’s provision, I was raised by my grandparents Gerald & Eliza Greene. In 1972, I graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston at the age of 17. As soon as I turned 18 yrs. old, I began working for Charleston National Bank, where I was working when I married my “prince charming” Keith, in August of 1973. After traveling 1500 miles away from family & friends and spending 3 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Keith completed his education & I then began mine as a pastor’s wife. We have served in 5 churches in the beautiful state of West Virginia.

I enjoy reading, traveling, DIY projects & am an avid fan of Pinterest. There I find many DIY projects for my husband to do!

I am a mother of 2 amazing sons, mother –in-law to a very special daughter-in-law & a grandma to the “most perfect grandson” ever!

My personal testimony: May I always be found faithful…As the song writer so eloquently puts it, “So that all who come behind us find us faithful, My the power of our devotion light their way. May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe….”

Pastor Shane Hostutler

I graduated from Paden City High School in ’99 and enrolled in college at MVNU. My major was yet to be determined. After much searching and prayer, I knew God was calling me into fulltime ministry. I declared my major quite late (the spring of my Senior year) and had to then attend only one extra semester. I finished college with a B.S. in Theology. I thought it would be best to go on to seminary, but God had other plans.

After just a few months, I began work as the Full-time Youth Pastor of Pickerington Nazarene Church. I spent 7 wonderful years there, and during that time I also served for 4 years as the Central Ohio District NYI President. During my first year at Pickerington, I married my fiancé Jackie Shively. We were married on June the 4th 2005. She has been my support and strength in life and ministry from that time to this. We now have a son, Slayton Keith Hostutler, born 11/15/2011.

In 2011 we knew God was preparing us for change, but we did not know when, where, or how. After much prayer and many dead ends, a call came from Parkersburg 1st Nazarene Church. We did not know First church was looking for staff, and Pastor Keith did not know God was leading us in a new direction. But after a conversation with my father (Pastor Keith), we realized that God was working on something we would have never dreamed. In September we interviewed here and accepted a unanimous call from the board. We are excited and humbled to be serving as your associate pastor and family here at Parkersburg 1st Church. I know God has great things in store.

That is where I have been, but not who I am. I am an avid Mountaineer and Steeler fan. I love the outdoors. Any time I’m free I want to be fishing, hunting, golfing, or boating. I like to shop especially on craigslist, and I’m always looking for a deal. I love spending time with my family any way I can. Most importantly, I am and want to be a devoted disciple of Christ, willing to follow wherever he leads.
